Being an orthodontist is being part of the most incredible profession: I spend my days with people who are choosing to make lasting, positive changes in their lives!

Growing up in Covington, Tennessee, I knew at an early age that I wanted to be a dentist. I attended the University of Tennessee, where I was awarded my Bachelor of Science in Biology and my Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS). Remaining at the university, I then completed post-doctorate training in Pediatric Dentistry.

During this time, I realized that orthodontics was my calling. The orthodontic journey is amazing, as each person moves from feeling uncomfortable with the appearance of their teeth to being confident and proud of their smile! So I returned to school, this time at Farleigh Dickinson University, for additional post-graduate training in Orthodontics.

I have practiced orthodontics in Bergenfield for many years and have loved every day spent with my patient family.

Whether treating a growing child, a teen maturing into a young adult, a working professional, or an older person who is getting the smile they have always wanted, I am attentive to the individual.

At the start of treatment, I take time to learn the person’s desires and concerns, and to carefully diagnose their clinical situation. Then, working with my patient and often their family, we plan a treatment approach that addresses the whole of their situation. In combining advanced techniques and technologies with personalized care, I ensure each person’s orthodontic treatment is efficient, comfortable, and effective, delivering their healthiest, most beautiful smile.

Staying current on the latest advancements and research in orthodontics is essential to the level of treatment I strive to deliver. Patients trust me to provide the highest-quality, proven care, so I dedicate many hours to continuing education.

Through the American Association of Orthodontists, I take courses, attend seminars and lectures, and study peer-reviewed publications. Additionally, teaching at Montefiore Medical Center Dental School in Bronx, New York, exposes me to emerging research, developing trends, and the newest treatment modalities. I love the learning process and incorporating the best advances into the practice and patient care.

As for my personal life, I have lived in Paramus, New Jersey, for 20 years. Now widowed, I have three remarkable children and two wonderful small dogs as my companions. I love technology and gadgets, and equally love working in my yard, but time with family and friends is always my priority.

Music, traveling, and nice wines – these are all things I savor and that enrich my life. That said, being an orthodontist, and sharing in people’s journeys to confident and radiant smiles, is nothing short of remarkable and my greatest joy. I feel honored to be part of this profession, and to spend my days helping people transform their lives: One person and one smile at a time!
